Bogota Course Details

Entry Requirements

  • You should be 20 years old by the commencement date of the course (trainees can be accepted over 18 at the center’s discretion).
  • While the course itself does not require you to have a degree, you should have a standard of education equivalent to that required for an entry into primary or higher education.
  • Have a strong command, awareness of English language with equal skills over verbal and written English so as to follow the course and complete the assignments.

Course Syllabus

Assessment

You will be continually assessed throughout the course and there is no final examination. The two types of assessment are:

  • Teaching Practice
  • Written Assignments

CELTA course trainees will always be kept informed of their progress during the course and an external assessor, appointed by Cambridge English, moderates each course.

Teaching Practice, Observation

Teaching practice is an integral part of the course where trainees work in groups to plan, observe and give feedback to each other.

  • Six hours of assessed teaching practice with real students in real classes.
  • Detailed oral and written feedback of your teaching practice.
  • Observation of both peer and qualified ELT teachers for six hours.

Our Bogota TEFL intitute was opened as part of a highly reputed global network of language schools, and is one of the largest language centres in the Andean region of South America - operating for the last 12 year.

In September 2018, the TEFL center was relocated within the heart of Bogota city to a new premises in the modern, financial district of Bogota. The new location is close to many exciting attraction spots, with only a few minutes walk to the main roads like Calle 80, Calle 76, Avenida Caracas, Avenida 15, and and Carrera Séptima. Transmilenio stations (the bus system) is closer to the center making transportation easy.

Our new center is spacious, comfortable and has lots of facilities designed to improve the learning experience of our teachers. There are over 11 modern classrooms and a student lounge where teachers can relax or do some self-study.

We also have computers and internet available for use throughout the center. Finally, there are various accommodation options suited to teachers based on their preferences.

Bogota is a charming city with a colonial center and fantastic architecture. There are numerous places to visit and a lot of things to do and try for CELTA trainees who love adventure. The city has some of the coolest nightlife scenes and the most exciting street art culture.

A walk around La Candelaria is one of the most important things to do in the city. The historic center is famous for its cobblestoned streets and colorful buildings. The street art is second to none, and there is a line of bars and restaurant where you can stop to relax and have some fun.

The famous Gold Museum, also known locally as Museo del Oro, is another great spot to visit. The museum has a collection of intriguing artifacts and houses over 300,000 pieces of gold. Stroll within the Plaza de Bolivar, one of the city`s colonial plazas. The spot is littered with pigeons and houses the seat of government that is the Palacio de Narino.

After an intensive TEFL session, visit the Cerro Monserate, which you can reach by cable car, for a magnificent view of the city.
